About the artist

The Story Textiles and Jewelry Tell

My earliest memory is of my mother dressing me in a mint green jumper with a lamb on it. I remember the color so vividly; the way it made me feel bright, the texture of the soft lamb; of being filled with joy because it was my favorite thing to wear. Since then, my life has often been bookmarked by textiles, carried through generations and across cultures of women: dresses for my dolls my grandma made, a blanket knitted by my great grandmother on my bed, my first purse previously owned by my mother who purchased it from the woman who wove it.

Though my interests within the arts have always ebbed and flowed, my relationship with yarn was always constant. Every winter for the past 18 years I have spent crocheting blankets and scarves, out of a desire to create for others, and practicality. It was only until recently that I discovered the vast possibilities of yarn and unearthed the journey yarn would take me on.

Among that journey was the rekindling of my love for jewelry making. From making seed bead daisy necklaces and macrame necklaces as a child to experimenting with incorporating textiles into jewelry, I was quickly drawn to expanding my passion within creating adornments for the body. Having a long standing love with all things vintage, it felt natural to begin working with pieces previously loved and unique parts to be sought out and coveted.

Textiles and jewelry tell a story, a journey of the hands and places they have traveled through.

Now, it is my greatest joy to carry a story of my own.
